As women age or go through childbirth, they might notice changes in their vagina that they would like to reverse. This feeling is increasingly common and highly manageable.
With the advancements in technology, there are now several options available for vaginal rejuvenation in Washington DC. And we are proud to offer them all. Think – tightening the canal, reducing dryness, minimizing incontinence, and removing excess skin. Continue reading to learn about the different options.
What You Need to Know About Vaginal Rejuvenation
There are two routes available for vaginal rejuvenation in Washington DC. It all comes down to your body goals and the specific areas you want to focus on. During the initial consultation, our surgeon will recommend a procedure that best matches your desired outcome.
There are two surgical options available for vaginal rejuvenation: labiaplasty and vaginoplasty. Both procedures have a slightly longer recovery time than minimally invasive options, but they provide more long-lasting results.
Labiaplasty
Factors like childbirth, aging, or genetics can cause labia discomfort. During a labiaplasty, the surgeon simply removes excess skin through tiny incisions. This procedure helps with concerns about labia minora (inner lips) that become stretched or enlarged and extend beyond the labia majora (outer lips).
Vaginoplasty
For a more comprehensive rejuvenation, vaginoplasty tightens internal muscles and removes excess tissue from the vaginal canal. Women love this procedure because, after childbirth and aging, the vagina loses some of its internal compression.
Benefits of Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation
Labiaplasties focus on the external vaginal area known as the labia. This form of vaginal rejuvenation helps make the vagina look more aesthetically pleasing and reduces discomfort. No more pinching during intercourse or chafing in that area!
The main reason people opt for vaginoplasties is to tighten the inner vaginal canals. Additionally, vaginoplasties have proven to assist women in enhancing sexual function and pleasure. It can also help with conditions like urinary incontinence, often caused by childbirth or hormonal changes.
How Long Does Vaginal Rejuvenation Last?
One key difference between surgical and non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation is the duration of the results. The results from surgical vaginal rejuvenation in Washington DC last for a lifetime.
On the other hand, the results of non-surgical procedures typically last up to a year. Often treatments have to be continued to maintain results.
Ideal Candidate
Patients often choose these procedures because they experience reduced sensation during intercourse, laxity within the vagina, or discomfort in that area. (If your vagina is sore while riding a bike, etc.)
Typically, individuals who are in good health and have realistic expectations are ideal candidates for plastic surgery and vaginal rejuvenation.
What to Expect
To begin the vaginal rejuvenation process in Washington DC, you’ll have a consultation with one of our skilled surgeons. During the consultation, they’ll discuss your goals, medical history, and provide detailed information about the procedure, including the limitations and recovery time.
Treatments usually last from half an hour to two hours, enabling you to return home on the same day. Local anesthesia helps reduce discomfort, but you’ll need someone to drive you home after surgical procedures.
Recovery Period for Vaginal Rejuvenation
After surgical vaginal rejuvenation, you’ll need downtime to heal. Patients usually miss a week or two of work. And after surgery, you cannot exercise, use tampons, or have intercourse for several weeks. (Avoid any extreme lower-body activity.) We’ll prescribe medication to manage any discomfort and have follow-up appointments to ensure you’re healing perfectly.
Cost of Vaginal Rejuvenation in Washington DC
Both surgical procedures have trade-offs, including differences in cost. Surgical procedures may have a higher initial cost but offer long-lasting results.
